"Wireless Battle of the Mesh" is being held from 26 March-1 April in Athens: http://battlemesh.org/BattleMeshV5

Part of the event is a "Warm Up" at Sarantaporo village - ~200Km north of Athens, with currently 9 wifi mesh networks in the surrounding area.
They have some nice links graphing their meshes:

Village Telco features on this weeks Floss-Weekly

This weeks Floss-Weekly podcast features "Village Telco"
http://twit.tv/show/floss-weekly/196
(Haven't listened to it yet)
Guests are Steve Song and Terry Gillett.
Terry was the person that bought BATMAN-ADV to the Mesh Potato project - extending MP from a voice-only solution - allowing you to do stuff like this:

A cute feature I like about the mesh potato: PC not required - setup can be done from a plain old phone.

Twine - a 60mm square AA powered block that reports internal and external sensor status to the 'Net

Twine reports via Twitter, SMS, email or with a HTTP request, using rules set from a Web interface.

RSS Feeds

I use Google reader to track changes in web sites for which I have an interest. Google reader uses RSS - it provides a list of the sites that have new items, so that you dont have to continually check them for new material. If you have a large number of "favourite" web pages, it can save a huge amount of time. You just log into Google reader, and click on the new articles.

It always irked me that the Air-Stream/tracker page didnt have an RSS feed - so I had to check it manually!

Best unlicenced wireless link.

Hello All,

For my first blog I figured I'd post something that I'm not only proud of, but highlights a pinacle of my wireless achievements so far.
This will also help encourage others and give me a progress bar I can compete against myself with.

Is a 5.8ghz wireless link I setup for a business nearly 6 months ago now.
Having logged back in to upgraded the devices there to a newer version of RouterOS (was running 3.17) I figured I'd save the moment and challenge others to post something to outdo this. :-)

Enjoy!

FOR SALE - CHIMNEY ANTENNA MOUNT

I have a small quantity of chimney antenna mounts. These are all 'as new' condition. Very quick and easy to setup. No drilling required. Best and easiest way of mounting an antenna on older style houses.

I have used one of these at a setup for the last two years supporting a 3m tall mast with a 15dB antenna. It has proved to be strong enough to survive through the storms in winter.

Each kit comes with:
antenna Bracket
wire strap
wire clamp
x2 I-bolts
x2 U-bolts
x6 nuts
x6 washers

$15 each (normally around $33 at Bunnings)

Pickup from Seaton or DryCreek (depending what time/day)
Delivery *may* be available for little to no extra charge depending on your location and amount purchased
