Has been done before
Ive seen these been done before on Minitar MNWAPB units which are very similar and is quite handy.
Personally I wouldnt use such thin wire to do that like shown on that picture. Wires from old PC power suplys are good for those sorts of things.
Power consumption is tiny..
Power consumption is tiny on these units, so the wire gauge probably isn't much of an issue?

and transferring up to 250mw ****
that wire should be fine
**** no idea how accurate these figures are but they were posted on these forums a while back i think they were gathered experimentally by a member
