Hey all,
I work for a company called Nobles, we deal with wire rope and lifting equipment. The other day when I was getting my wire rope and other tackle for the guide wires for my mast, I realised how much cheaper we are compared with Bunnings etc.
We don't advertise prices on our website (www.nobles.com.au) but as an indication of prices
5mm G1570 wire rope $0.75 for 10+m
10mm Galv Dee Shackles $0.50 ea
8mm Hook-Eye Turnbuckle $1.45 ea
Please use these prices only as an indication. I think these are the bulk buy prices as well, which is around 10+.
Be sure to visit us. The guys at the counter will be happy to help you out with what you need, and they really do know what they sell! ;)

Copper or Allow Cored
Nice one maybe you should ask your boss about being on Air-Stream's members discounts program - http://www.air-stream.org.au/business
On another topic what about Copper or Allow Cored steal cables, I have a number of SWL and Radio Astronomy projects that require. This is because copper wire used in a dipoles and other long wire antenna applications will stretch. Unfortunately steel and specially stainless wire is unsuitable as it has a high electrical resistance and so not suitable.
Specialised Cores
Unfortunately we don't have Copper or Allow core cable. Mostly because we deal with lifting equipment and that requires strength which is achieved with steel or fibre cores. I don't know whether we could specially get them in. I'll ask, but there may be, erm, business factors involved as I don't know how many outlets there are for that sort of thing and how many potential buyers there are.
On the discounts, the sales guys when I was getting my tackle indicated they could do a discount. This is more to spare my staff discount status as it would seem suspicious if I start buying heaps of things with it! I will have another chat with them and see if we can arrange something.
