I'm trying to turn my dreams of broadband in Hillbank into reality. To do this I'll be transmitting an ADSL2+ (ADAM) from Elizabeth Downs. But I've got no idea what antenna to use. I will most likely be using 2 Edimax EW-7206APg APs. The distance is 3km LOS. The internet connection speed is a max of 24Mbps. Ideally I would to have a connection between the two house that is fast to stream video.
Can someone answer these questions for me?
1) I assume using two directional antenna is the way to go?
2) What dBi is appropriate?
3) What affect does dBi have on overall throughput of the link? If any?
I was thinking of getting 2 24dBi Parabolic Grid antenna. Is this enough, overkill or just right?
