I recently got broadband with a wireless modem.
I live in a modest sized brick house however the signal from the modem is so weak that it us unreliable in the next room about 3 walls and 10 M away.
The modem is transmitting at 100% power unfortunately the antenna in the modem cant easily be changed.
There is an adjustment to use mode B on the modem.
Does anybody know if mode B better in difficult conditions than mode G??
first thing i would try
first thing i would try would be updating the firmware on the router and drivers on your laptop, should help out with the signal. shouldn't need to change the antenna in the back even G routers work fine in brick houses
