Air-Stream Wireless is a non-profit community group established in 2002 that has built a Wide Area Network across Adelaide using wireless technologies. The aim of the network is to offer an “Internet like” environment across Adelaide that facilitates education, local content and communications. We have now grown to become Australia’s largest community wireless network despite not actually offering an Internet service.
Why? it is because our organisation offers members far more than just a computer network. Regular member meetings offer a friendly environment where people who share a common interest in technology can develop and share new skills. We offer one of the only independent sources of useful information on the rights and obligations of wireless users in regards to ACMA regulations and the most effective and appropriate equipment to use.
