New northern suburbs members required..
All the services, access points and systems we enjoy today are solely dependent on members who are contributing their resources and volunteering time. If you want this site operational and others like this please let us know how you would like to help and what time you can offer, as your membership can make a real differance.
Anyone can become a member and all for as little as $50 per year, which all goes directly towards building and maintaining the network. As a member you can make a real difference while learning about wireless networking, have fun and meet people from a wide range of backgrounds and professions.

I have offered hardware to get this project off the ground I'll re list what I have offered:
Minitar AP in weatherproof box with PoE
Either 25 db antenna or 15db yagi
Pigtail to suit
I know my membership is due for renewal, hopefully I will make the next meeting! I will also speak with the nodes hanging off my AP but I think they are only willing to become a part of the organisation if they are part of the larger core network.
Thanks
The equipment is all sorted, but thanks for the offer, what we realy need is to increase membership. To provide more content, for the network, and fund projects like this.

2 x Client AP
1 x backbone to Northfeild
1 x backbone to Uleybury
1 x Direct interface for EARC

Ok sure, I have a minitar pointing to the towers general direction with a direction antenna, I'm supprised it wasnt picked up. I think I will put a omni up.. shouldnt have any worries seeing me from the tower then. The waveguide at Uleybury is most probably out of reach from the Tower too.
Just wondering about the
Just wondering about the progress at the water tower. I'm assuming since I can't stumble it from my place that it's not up and running yet?
If you need any help putting all the gear in place, give me a buzz. I'm happy to help.
Masts
Just about everything is ready except the special masts, which are in progress. The job has to be done safely and ERAC wants it done with minimum impact to the site.
I expect this should be clompleted over the xmas break while I have time off work as I want to make three South/East/North, which will make it easy to add equipment at a latter stage.
I'll let you know when and what is happening, as it is officially an EARC project with support from Air-Stream, minimum non-ERAC people will be allowed on site during installation.

Fair enough... Thanks for the update
Whats the name?
Is this going to be Air-Stream-EARC or Air-Stream-VK5LZ?
Air-Stream-VK5LZ
As this site will be "officially" managed by the club, I feel it should use vk5lz as this is the clubs official call-sign.
