At last upgrading my node to an RB422AH with an R52Hn radio - not on the roof yet but at least in it's box.

great to see more upgrades!,
great to see more upgrades!, are you going to put up an omni at your site too?
where about's is your current setup?
Magill
I live at the foot of the hill below Skye not so far from the round-about at the top of The Parade.
Have only put in 1 mini-pci radio as I was kind of thinking that anyone who can see me should be able to see Skye. Anyway, I can add an omni later if that seems a good idea...
The dark side
Hay Ross welcome to the dark side. ;-)
FOSS
Well, the hardware also runs other OSs but for now proprietary stuff is the go - sigh
Looking forward to seeinig how well the nstreme protocol works!
Default IP
So, I'm thinking does this RB have an OS installed? How do I find out?
A little googleing and it seems 192.168.1.1 is the default IP - Okay! But it does not ping, hmm..
Then I can see the ethernet link LED flashing every so often - something is happening, tcpdump me thinks.
wifi:~# tcpdump -i eth1
tcpdump: verbose output suppressed, use -v or -vv for full protocol decode
listening on eth1, link-type EN10MB (Ethernet), capture size 96 bytes
02:51:34.386706 IP 192.168.88.1.5678 > broadcasthost.5678: UDP, length 78
02:51:34.395962 CDPv1, ttl: 120s, Device-ID 'MikroTik', length 61
Bloody hell! There's an IP even though my nic is set to 192.168.1.5 - gotta luv it ;-)
