Finally got some time to get my little set up running thanks to Firefox for the hardware, and Pazza for the routing.
Currently connected to Gould Creek but will be looking to change to Seaton once the airstream links get fixed following the great storms we had the other week.
For those interested my setup consists of
1 Mikrotic Routerboard RB433
1 Mikrotik R52h 350mW wifi card
1 U.FL to N female bulkhead
1 24v PSU
1 Parabolic 2.4 Grid antenna 24dbi
1 N-male coax extension
and a PoE injector
Question is how to stop birds sitting on the antenna and pooping all over the place
1 home made J pole made out of water pipe conected to the very top of my 2 story house.

Magpies on Grid
Have 2 magpies who have decided to use my parabolic grid as their lookout tower and seem to sit there all day long pooping allover the place and degrading my signal (maybe)
Anyway might be able to stick a scarecrow up there not sure if the council would want a building permit for it though lol.
Only been up a few days and poop everywhere even on the solar panels which had stayed clean before the install.
May have to try nails attached to the grid somehow without degrading the signal.
Any ideas would be great.
Will post some pics of the magies sometime..
birdpoo!
lol, 5 days and your roof is covered already! got to keep them away from the solar cells :D
The mess makers
Captured on film they have started swooping the kids when they ride their bikes outside so makes me think they have now a nest somewhere close going to try cable tie spikes on the grid pointing up.

May have to upgrade to metal spikes or a gun
Bird repellant
There are plastic owls you can get to scare off other types of animals, not sure if it would work on magpies though....
