Survey of Woolsheds

Today Microtechno, Nekron, and myself spent the afternoon at Microtechno's planned node out at Woolsheds.

I took out my binoculars to have a good visual look around, and was surprised at how good the site is. Roseworthy, the hills of Gawler East and Gawler South, Elizabeth, Para Hills and even the eastern most suburbs were visible! Although everything south of Elizabeth seemed to be too far for a link.

Surveying went well, and was taken from the top of an old windmill tower which was about 12m off the ground. We were able to see Hillbanks and Para Hills without too much effort at all. However despite my AP being up and running we could not see it! After traveling back and resurveying from my end, we found that my AP is too low below the tree line. So the plan is for next weekend to raise up my end with a new mast.

The exact links that Woolsheds will use have not yet been decided. They're to be decided at a later date.
