Gawler South AP is Operational

Gentlemen (and Ladies?),

It is with regret that this announcement is not for the sonic recreation of the end of the universe. This, instead, is to announce that the Gawler South AP is now installed!

It's taken a couple of months of delays (roofs at 40+ just suck!). The latest was caused by when I found that I had to change the position of my TV mast head amplifier. Apparently ethernet communications runs with bandwidths up to the region of 250MHz (maybe beyond, no specifics please). Yep, found out the hard way that this is also about where TV signals exist. No one else may have had this issue because Gawler is on the TV Reception fringe and the TV signal is much weaker. So even before I had joined Air Stream I'd installed an amplifier to boost the signal. Now, my masthead amp is located before the cat5 cable, and the cat5 takes a different route through the roof, and I have full TV pictures and a happily running ap when before I had a happily running ap and no TV picture what-so-ever.

*Later note: I later realised I was experiencing issues on other channels. My wrap-it-in-alfoil fix is in another blog.
